about me

Hello! My name is Jessica Wilson and I created scrumdilly-do!  (all lowercase please) when I returned to school and left the world of Children's Books and events. While I was thrilled to be finally wrapping up my degree in Child Development, I sorely missed working with children, books and all those happy storytimes I used to organize and run. So in between papers and research and reading, I eked out this small happy space as a way of staying connected to what truly makes my heart sing.

I work as a preschool teacher and am an avid supporter of play-based and Froebel educational models. More than avid, I am passionate about them.

Thank you for visiting, I hope you enjoy it till you have paint up to your eyeballs! And don't fergit to check out my lovely mama mentor's blog as well!

~jessica

p.s.
if ya link up or pin the 'do please make sure to write it out as it should be scrumdilly-do! (all lower case, no caps please!)

thank you!

  4. Hi! I had a question about your homemade flea repellent I saw on pinterest. What kind/brand of witch hazel do you use? It's hard to find and I didn't want to get the wrong one. I've seen distillates and Thayer's toner... Thanks!

    1. Hi! I'm in the states and use a generic brand from Target. Witch-Hazel on its own is used as a toner and astringent. Dickinson's is a pretty good brand. Distilled is fine as well. Thayers is fine to use, just really expensive in comparison to your basic witch-hazel which should cost no more than $4USD

    2. Thank you so much! Thayers was the closest thing I could find locally, and I didn't know if it would be safe since it had other things in it. I am totally going to target and returning the Thayers stuff. I really appreciate your help! :)
